Tryna Grub Review: Cafe Xoho
If you’re looking for a cute hipster place close to the beach, Cafe Xoho is the café for you. This trendy spot was opened seven years ago by Xoli and Howie. Since then, Xoho has become known for creating delicious dishes while only using fresh ingredients.
As for the looks of the café the uniqueness cannot be understated. The eco-friendly vibe that both the patio and the interior of the café give off is simply one of a kind. The café prides itself on its use of recycled cans as cutlery and recycled paper as napkins.
The menu is chocked full of both healthy and delicious options that cater to vegetarian and vegan needs. The staff is warm and welcoming and ensures that each and every customer enjoys each and every bite of food from the café.
We truly wish that we could have ordered the whole menu, but even the most experienced foodie could not have handled that much food. OJ ordered the Juanito Burrito. The burrito was not only muy bonito (beautiful), but it tasted even better than it looked. To give a visual of the burrito, a thick flour tortilla containing, corn, scrambled eggs, black beans, lettuce, tomato salsa, avocado spread, and a kick of their deliciously spicy spread.
As for our next favorite dish, we move towards the Bulger Bowl. Bulger is a relatively new food that has been making its way to the forefront of healthy breakfast bowls. It is comprised from the groats of several different wheat species, most often from the durum wheat. This warm bulger bowl was loaded with flavor, from tomato jam to grilled, marinated tofu, just thinking back to this dish makes the whole team’s mouth water.
Lastly, we had to try to the Egg n’ Cheese bagel. Getting it with the cured salmon is almost a must. The café turned an everyday simple breakfast bagel into a delicious meal that can be and should be enjoyed at any time throughout the day.
If you are looking to complete your meal, Tryna Grub recommends you do so with the fresh Matcha Smoothie, Hibiscus Tea, or our personal favorite, the Dirty Chai. However, if you are needing a little something to really get your day going after a long night, the café’s Bloody Mary is an absolute must.
Prior to leaving we suggest you really leave your mark by signing your name and leaving a small message in the café’s bathroom.
Tryna Grub would like to extend a huge Mazel Tov (congratulations) to the newlyweds Howard and Xoli, the Café Xoho founders. The team wishes you nothing, but the best and continued success in the future.
